Fusing Township was named "Jiaoban Mountain." It was named due to the triangle shape of Fusing terrace during the 11th year of Ching Dynasty (1885) by imperial inspector Ming-Chwan Liu who came to Taiwan to conciliate the aboriginals. Fusing Township belonged to Hsinchu State during the Japanese colonial rule time and renamed to Jiaoban Township of Taoyuan County after the restoration of Taiwan. It was renamed again to Fusing Township on October 30, 1954.
